Clifford Live!

I really should start playing the lottery because I won again :) This time, it was 4 tickets to see Clifford the Big Red Dog Live! musical. Anna and Will have read Clifford books here and there, but they are certainly not die-hard fans or anything. But, of course, I wasn't about to let the tickets go to waste either, so off we went this past Saturday afternoon. The Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas...40 minutes away...seemed so far that Anna said that it was "like a road trip." Her father couldn't agree more :) Once we got there though, parking was easy, picking up our tickets was a breeze, everything went very smoothly!

As for the show itself, I really didn't know what to expect. Would it be stupid and boring? I was prepared to leave at intermission if that was the case. In then end, we stayed until the cast took their final bow. The show was very entertaining! The songs ("Birdwell Island" was my fave) were totally catchy! And so very age appropriate for my 6 yo and 4 1/2 yo! Thumbs all the way up!

This is definitely something we would have never otherwise done if it wasn't for winning the tickets at DC Thrifty Mom, but it turned out to be a great night out!
The musical was the highlight of our Saturday, but the rest of our weekend was pretty full as well. A play-date, birthday party, dinner out with new friends. As the kids get older, they love having other kids to play with and it's forcing me to become more social. I am an introvert through and through, but I am trying my best.

  1. What a nice prize! My kids aren't die hard fans of Clifford either, but the show sounds like a lot of fun and even better for free.
I hear ya on being social. I'm not exactly a social butterfly myself, but I try for the kids. Their social calendar is more busy than mine :)

  2. Congrats on winning again! I think the odds of winning these kinds of prizes are better than the lottery ;).

  3. I enjoy the TV show with the BIG red dog. I think I might have enjoyed the "energy" of this show - even if I couldn't hear the music.

  4. It's great you were lucky. And if you say you should start playing the lottery, then I would like to share the info about the way I do it - thelotter review Wish you luck!
