5 / 6 it wasn't my idea to transition Will out of his crib at 18.5 months, but maybe it will turn out for the best. at least Anna loves bunking with her brother. ps. she requested for bunk beds, but later said she was scared to climb the ladder so we took it apart.
7 / 8 choo choo train ride with Grandma.

13 lots of rearranging + cleaning went on over the long weekend due to 5 / 6.

  1. I was wondering about those beds! I'm anxious about getting bunk beds one day for my boys as well. :)

    1. Hi Donya,

I saw your comment on Instagram, but I am still trying to figure out how to reply!

But to answer your question - Nope, Will didn't climb out of his crib or anything, but because the kids shared a bed for 2 weeks in Hawaii and Will has been fighting sleep since we got back, my husband thinks that having someone (Anna) in the room may help.

So we got bunk beds and now they are sharing a room. We took apart the crib.

Anna was excited when she saw the two beds stacked, but in the end, she was having too much trouble climbing the ladder on her own. It's better this way, I later realized. It's safer and more convenient. When they are older, maybe we will stack them again.

  2. That grilled food looks delicious! We stayed at a hotel recently with bunk beds... our girls loved them but I was always worried that someone was going to fall off the ladder. :P

  3. Looks like a super fun weekend! When I was little I never wanted to be in a stroller. My dad's shoulders was how I preferred to get around! :)

  5. I think the lessons learned from this weekend is that the two smallest people in this house take up the most space, crap, and time. Sure, we're the parents and the ones actually providing all this stuff, but I'll still blame the short little people for all my faults!

  6. BBQ looked awesome! It's my favorite part of summer. The smell from the grill always puts me in a good mood ;). Too bad you had to take those bunk beds apart. What work! We didn't have J in a toddler bed til he was 2. As for dad carrying both kids, that's priceless!
