OBX: Then and Now

Being stuck in the same car with
a toddlerAnna for 5+ hours is no joke. So, to make it as tear-free as possible, we left a day before our vacation was suppose to end to beat the mad traffic. Besides, the weather had turned cold and windy the day we left so we didn't feel like we wasted a day.

We got home late last night and today I shopped for groceries while hubs did yard work stuff outside (yikes, he found bats!). The bags are unpacked and mails are sorted and we will have tomorrow to relax before returning to work on Monday.

Anyway, back to the vacation. We went to the beach before we left so Anna can say "bye-bye, beach" one last time. Just look at those crazy waves - so glad our vacation was ending and not just starting!
But, before arriving home, we made a pit stop at Colonial Williamsburg to let Anna stretch her legs.

It was almost exactly a year ago when we took Anna to Williamsburg. I thought it would be fun to take some pictures at the same exact locations to see how they compare.

I still think of Anna as a tiny girl, but my how she has grown!

  1. Things I learned on this trip:

-I love Anna more and more
-Anna has the toughest and sweetest mom
-Traffic triple sucks balls when there is a kid on board

Of course, this life of ours will be thrown into a tailspin the moment Baby B arrives. But I'm still looking forward to the two kids interacting with each other.

  2. She's really growing up!

The surf looks really nasty... I enjoy watching it though, no matter what.

  3. I'm just catching up on your blog now and really enjoying your family trip! The photos look incredible (especially the sunrise pictures) and I agree, Anna is just shooting right up. Happy the family had some special moments out there.
