Well, it was bound to happen

sooner or later and it did yesterday, at 45 weeks (also known as 10 1/4 months).

A rambunctious Anna bumped into the coffee table – hard - just right under her left eye.

And now she’s wearing her very first shiner. Still cute, no?

She is also climbing steps! Once she reaches the top, she will crawl from room to room, which is actually an excellent way to kill time between naps. :) I just get down on my hands and knees and crawl along with her.

I guess this probably means we should invest in some baby gates?

On another note, I can't wait for the warmer days ahead. Except for some small shopping trips, Anna hasn't gotten out much this winter at all. I am making it my number one priority to take her out (the zoo and the acqurium are on top of the list) once spring comes.

  1. Oh poor thing. Hope it's healing well! And I also can't wait til spring comes so I can get back out and about. Or at least do so without freezing to death in the process.

  2. So what does she do on the way down the steps? Does she try to climb back down?:) Watch out and get those gates installed!:)

  3. Aw, poor girl! Hope it heals fast.

We are looking forward to Spring here too. I realized the other day that Ephram has never really explored outside yet since he wasn't mobile until after the snow came and put us in hibernation.

  4. Well, when you pick a fight with a black piece of wood from Ikea, how else could it possibly end? Just hope she learned her lesson.

  5. @ Irena: She's not going down the steps yet. And yes, Grandma said to buy those baby gates ASAP so she can at least go to the bathroom! :)

  8. Aw..the poor thing! But yes, still very cute! :) You definitely have to install those baby gates soon! I was babysitting hubby's 1 year old niece back home and it was just non-stop surveillance. Really tiring I must say!
