a new beginning

Friends! It's a wonderful day in our household. I finally discovered a gold mine with Anna, called 'The Baby Can Put Herself to Sleep'. I put her in the bouncer (where she takes most of her naps), tuck her in tight with a blanket, and walk away. And if she really is tired and sleepy, after a few minutes of squirming, she will slip into dreamland without any rocking or soothing (something I have been doing since Day 1) on my part.

a new beginning
For all mommies out there reading my blog, I think you will agree with me that this is a huge milestone, even though it technically isn't one according to the baby books. This means I get to have two hours of my day back. This means no more back pains from sitting on the floor. Break out the confetti, this calls for a celebration! Who's with me? :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know I will.

  1. Sweeeet! Congrats, girl. I don't know exactly what this is like yet, but I can imagine what a relief it must be :)

    Have a great weekend, buddy!

  2. Isn't it awesome!? My son was doing this awhile ago, and then all of a sudden stopped being able to do it, and demanded to be bounced to sleep. And just this week, I've got him to fall asleep on his own again! So I'm celebrating with you for sure.
    Go, Anna!

  3. Congratultions! It is a gold mine!
I've been still trying to figure out my babe's right sleeping condition. She's still waking me up 2 times a night at almost 6 months old!

I like that colorful bouncer seat... and Anna looks so precious in dreamland.
