Always a good idea to have at least a fold-up shovel in the vehicles and a nice heavy one in the house. It was one of our first investments when we moved here from Texas because we knew we'd get more snow than we'd ever seen there (we'd get snow there once in a great while...about an inch or so and it never lasted long).
This was great though. Coulda been worse. I was living in Pottstown Pa (not too far from iggy) for about 9 months. That winter (2002-2003) we had a freak storm that dumped 9 FEET of the white stuff on us. Nearly buried the lower level apartment I was living in....
Actually, my feet did most of the work. Kicked and trampled down all the snow around and behind our cars. Not too bad actually. But yes, once we buy a place that has a driveway and sidewalk, we'll definitely fork out the dough for a decent shovel. Until then, our cheap asses will just keep our fingers crossed that no blizzards strike us again.
Oh goodness... an icescraper??????? Yegads.. you need to invest in at least a folding shovel - and if it really works - it won't snow again for years!

Good gravy!! How long did it take the poor man? I hope you were waiting inside for him...with a nice hot cup of cocoa.
ReplyDelete@ Dorkys: Not too bad, took about 1.5 hours to clean 2 cars. And yes, I stayed inside. Only went out to take some pictures. :)
