My Very First Personalized Cards

Four days into my 1001 Day Project, I can check one off! I completed #9 - make my own personalized note cards!

Instead of note cards though, my personalized cards are actually flat cards. With a regular 8.5"x11" sheet of paper, I made 4 flat cards (vs. just 2 with note cards). I figured that I probably wouldn't be writing novels on these cards anyway. I made 52 cards in total and it took me about 2 hours from start to finish. I was so tired afterwards!

I will admit that that not every card is perfect. In fact, if I were to sell these, I probably wouldn't be able to sell a couple of them to paying customers. However, since this is for my own use, it doesn't matter. Although, I did learn a few tricks such as re-ink often.

Okay, now moving onto #10, who should I pick to make personalized cards for? I want someone who would appreciate and actually use them. But more importantly, who am I willing to spend 2 bulbs and a screen on? :)

  1. Your cards are wonderful. How much are the bulbs and screen. Just trying to get an idea of how much it costs to make these. You are so Creative!!!

  2. Hi there,

Thanks for visiting sugarlens! I am glad you like the cards!

The bulbs are 10 for $12.50. The screens are 5 for $12.50. Each time you make a master print, you use 2 bulbs and 1 screen. So basically, $5. Then you have to factor in the inks and papers too. If you clean the screens properly, you can reuse them again. Of course, that is, if you want to print the same design again.

I get my supplies from here:

I hope this helps! Good luck!

  3. Nice oh! They turned out really well. Definitely looks like the work of a Suggy! But I'm disturbed about how you're ranking ppl now. Bulbs and screens? Kinda reminds me of the "Sponge Worthy" episode of Seinfeld. Hopefully Pargo and I are worth a gazillion bulbs and screens! yup!
