The City By The Bay

(cue music)...If you are going to San Francisco...Be sure to wear flowers in your hair...

Luke has been traveling nonstop for work lately. In fact, he has 3 week-long trips lined up in the next month! I am happy to say that I will be joining him for his last one in San Francisco! I am elated!

At first, I went back and forth on whether or not I should go. I have only been to SF once, with my parents, in high school. I don't remember much, but I do recall a lot of driving. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get around by myself without a car and would just end up spending my days lounging at the hotel pool (which isn't a bad way to live either, but not vacation-worthy enough to dip into my scarce vacation hours). After some research, I found out that not having a car is actually a good thing. And then after looking at pictures of the long hilly roads and Victorian houses, I was sold.

For the most part, I will be touring around on my own while Luke slaves away at some trade show (read: snooze fest). However, we are flying in a day early so we will get to spend some time together. I am looking forward in riding the cable cars!

San Francisco, here I come! See you in 23 days!

So dear readers, I turn to you, any words of wisdom for me? What should be on my list of Must See?

...If you're going to San Francisco...You're gonna meet some gentle people there...(end music)

  1. Remember to wear flowers in your hair oh!!!!

  2. i'd recommend Sausalito. it lies North of the GG Bridge. eat at Scoma's (order their steam mussels) and then walk across the street to get some good old Lambert ice cream. :) afterwards, you can visit the Marina/Presidio district since it's nearby. the Palace of Fine Arts is located there.

if you LOVE to EAT, i highly recommend Cupertino Village, which is located in the South Bay..about 45 minutes from SF. lots of good Taiwanese dishes. this place will make you feel like you're in Asia. stinky tofu anyone? :p

  3. Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately, we won't have a car so I am not sure how we will be able to get to those places...
That Cupertino Village sure sounds like a place I would love to visit though.

  4. Yup, no wheels. But we can probably grab something on Sunday since I don't have to do anything until Monday afternoon. But thanks for the tips!!
