Everyone Smile!

Part I, II, and III

Immediately after the wedding ceremony, we took group photos with our guests. The guests were given bubble wands I bought from Michaels. Come think of it, the wands were the FIRST wedding related item I purchased! I still remember Luke and I going into Michaels with the 40% off coupon and coming out with the wands. I remember telling him as we walked out that the wedding was really happening now!

So anyway, Heather gathered everyone up and took a few posed shots first. But those are no fun, right? So to have some fun, the guests started to blow bubbles or "good wishes" at us. I think it turned out quite well and everyone had a good laugh. I think it's important, in a wedding, to involve your guests. Your pictures will naturally come out better when people are having fun.

We indicated on our wedding invitation and website for our guests to dress business casual. I think the fathers were the only ones ended up with jackets and ties, but everyone else took our recommendation. We had an easy breezy casual affair and it was nice that the guests were all casually and comfortably dressed for an outdoor ceremony.

A close-up of the bride and groom.

After the group photos, we asked everyone to proceed to Maggiano's while the families stayed behind for family photos. We went back inside the gazebo for those photos.

This picture is funny because my brother Ken looked so much bigger than everyone else. In real life, he is taller, but I didn't think he was that much taller. I also thought it was cute that my brothers decided on matching outfits!

Heather took lots of family photos, but I didn't like a lot of them because they were all posed and stiff-looking. I guess that's the nature of formal portraits. However I am glad that we do have photos like these where everyone was looking directly at the camera.

The whole gang. It was easy to coordinate our family photo shoot because we only had our immediate families. Later we did take pictures with our relatives, but I won't post them here.

Everything went smoothly without a hitch and we were right on schedule as far as time. Just a little bit past 12 noon, we started our walk to the car and to Maggiano's. Luke already took off his jacket. Now that the serious stuff was over, time to eat! :)

  2. business casual all the way, can't stress that enough. keep the guests comfy and they'll stay happy. and if the guests are happy, that's just one less thing to worry about.
